Честита Цветница! (на всички , които имат имен ден и които нямат)
От всички приказки от детството ми, някак само тази ми се е набила до мозъка на костите, може би защото има нормални герои и край, както и смисъл (като множество други разкази и книги, които уж са за деца, ама не съвсем).
По повод празника, ви я припомням:

„— Бедните ми цветя, съвсем увехнаха! — каза малката Ида. — Снощи бяха тъй хубави, а сега главичките им са клюмнали. Защо става тъй? — попита тя студента, който седеше на канапето.
Тя обичаше много тоя студент — той й разказваше чудни истории, изрязваше й от хартия забавни картинки: сърца с малки момиченца, които танцуваха, цветя и великолепни палати с врати и прозорци, които можеха да се отварят. Да, много добър беше тоя студент.
— Защо днес цветята изглеждат тъй посърнали? — попита отново тя, като посочи увехналия букет.
— Знаеш ли защо? — каза студентът. — Тая нощ цветята са били на бал и затова сега главите им са клюмнали.
— Нима цветята могат да танцуват? — извика малката Ида.
— О, да! — отвърна студентът. — Веднага щом се мръкне и ние заспим, те започват весела игра. Те имат почти всяка нощ бал.
— Ами децата могат ли да ходят на техните балове?
— Да — рече студентът, — мъничките маргаритки и момините сълзи участвуват също в игрите им.
— Къде танцуват най-хубавите цветя? — попита малката Ида.
— Ти нали си ходила извън града край големия палат, в който лете живее кралят и дето има една чудесна градина с много цветя? Помниш ли лебедите, които плуваха към теб, когато им хвърляше хлебни трошици? Ето, там стават истинските балове.
— Вчера аз ходих с мама в тая градина — каза Ида, — но там листата бяха паднали от дърветата и наоколо нямаше никакви цветя. Къде са те? През лятото имаше толкова много цветя.
— Те са вътре в палата! — отвърна студентът. — Трябва да ти кажа, че щом кралят и придворните се завърнат в града, цветята тутакси побягват от градината право в палата и там за тях настъпва весело време. Да можеш само да ги видиш отнякъде! Двете най-хубави рози седят на трона, а червените петльови гребени се нареждат от двете им страни и се кланят. Сетне се явяват всички хубави цветя и балът започва. Сините теменуги представят мънички морски кадети, те танцуват със зюмбюлите и минзухарите, които наричат госпожици. Лалетата и големите жълти нарциси се държат като стари дами: те гледат танцуващите и се грижат за реда.
— Но — попита малката Ида — никой ли не наказва цветята за туй, че те танцуват в палата?
— Никой нищо не знае за това — каза студентът. — Наистина понякога през нощта се явява старият пазач, за да види дали всичко е в ред. Той носи в ръката си голяма връзка ключове и щом цветята чуят тяхното дрънкане, утихват, скриват се зад дългите завеси и оттам поглеждат само с едно око.
— Защо ми мирише тук на цветя? — казва старият пазач, без да може да ги види.
— Ах, колко е хубаво! — извика малката Ида и запляска с ръце. — Но нима аз никога не ще мога да видя цветята?
— О, да! — рече студентът. — Не забравяй само, когато отидеш в палата, да погледнеш през прозореца — тогава ще ги видиш. Ето, днес аз сторих това и видях един дълъг жълт нарцис, който лежеше на дивана и се изтягаше.
— Ами цветята от ботаническата градина могат ли да ходят там? Не е ли много далеч за тях?
— Да — отвърна студентът, — ако те пожелаят, могат да хвръкнат. Ти нали си виждала ония хубави пеперуди — червени, жълти и бели, — които приличат тъй много на цветя? Някога те наистина са били цветя, но след това са се откъснали от стъблата си, размахали са листенцата си като криле и са хвръкнали. И понеже са били послушни и добри, получили са позволение да летят и денем и да не се връщат вече в къщи, на стъблата си. Така тия цветя се превърнали най-сетне в истински пеперуди. Ти самата си виждала това, нали? Разбира се, твърде възможно е цветята от ботаническата градина да не са ходили нито веднъж в кралския палат, а може би те и съвсем не знаят, че нощем там е тъй весело. Виж какво ще ти кажа! Ех, как ще се зачуди професорът по ботаника, който живее отсреща — ти нали го познаваш? Когато отидеш в неговата градина, кажи само на някое от цветята, че отвъд в палата стават големи балове. Тогава цветето ще разправи това на другите цветя и те всички ще отлетят там. И после, когато професорът влезе в градината, там не ще има нито едно цвете и той няма да разбере какво е станало с тях.
— Но как ще каже това цветето на другите цветя? Нали цветята не могат да говорят?
— Вярно е, те не могат да говорят — отвърна студентът, — но затова пък се разбират със знаци. Нима ти не си виждала как цветята кимат с глави и движат листенцата си, когато ги лъхне вятър? За тях тия знаци са също тъй разбираеми, както са за нас думите!
— Ами професорът разбира ли техния език? — попита Ида.
— О, да! Една сутрин професорът влезе в градината и забеляза как една избуяла коприва прави с листата си знаци на великолепен карамфил. „Ти си тъй хубав — говореше копривата — и аз те обичам от все сърце!“ Ала професорът, който не може да търпи такива думи, удари веднага копривата по листата й — това са нейните пръсти — и се опари тъй силно, че оттогава не смее вече да пипа никаква коприва.
— Ах, колко е весело това! — извика Ида и се засмя.
— Как могат да се приказват такива неща на едно дете! — каза намръщеният съветник, който беше дошъл на гости и седеше на канапето. Той не можеше да търпи студента и винаги се сърдеше, когато го виждаше да изрязва от хартия разни картинки: ту някой човек, увиснал на бесилка и хванал в ръката си сърце, което е откраднал от друг човек, ту някоя стара вещица, яхнала метла и качила своя мъж на носа си. Старият съветник не можеше да понася това и казваше все едно и също, както и сега: „Как могат да се приказват такива неща на едно дете! Всичко туй е глупава измислица!“
Но разказът на студента беше твърде забавен за малката Ида и тя мисли много за него: цветята са отпуснали главичките си, защото са играли цяла нощ и са уморени — навярно затова са се и разболели. И тя ги постави при другите си играчки, които бяха сложени върху една много хубава масичка. Чекмеджето на тая масичка беше също тъй пълно с много чудни неща. На кукленото креватче лежеше нейната кукла Софи и спеше, но малката Ида й каза:
— Стани, Софи, ти ще лежиш тая нощ в чекмеджето! Бедните цветя са болни, остави ги да си починат на твоето креватче. Тогава те сигурно ще оздравеят!
И тя извади веднага куклата, която намръщи лице и не каза нито дума, защото се ядоса, че й вземат креватчето.
След това Ида сложи цветята в малкото креватче, зави ги с одеялцето и им каза да мируват, а пък тя щяла да им свари чай, за да оздравеят и да могат утре да станат. И тя издърпа грижливо завеските на малкото легло, за да не свети слънцето право в очите на болните цветя.
През цялата вечер малката Ида не преставаше да мисли за това, което й разказа студентът. И когато тя сама трябваше да легне в леглото си, надникна най-напред зад пердетата на прозорците, където стояха цветята на майка й — чудно хубави зюмбюли и лалета, — и им пошепна тихо:
— Аз зная, вие ще идете тая нощ на бал!
Но цветята си стояха спокойно, като че нищо не бяха чули. Само малката Ида знаеше какво говори.
Когато си легна, тя дълго мисли в леглото колко хубаво ще бъде, ако види чудните цветя, когато танцуват в кралския палат. „Наистина ли са били там и моите цветя?“ — каза си тя и заспа. Но през нощта се събуди: тя бе сънувала цветята и студента, когото съветникът ругаеше. В стаята, дето лежеше Ида, беше съвсем тихо. На масата гореше нощната лампа, баща й и майка й спяха.
„Дали цветята лежат още в Софиното креватче? — каза си тя. — Как бих искала да узная това!“ Ида се надигна от леглото си и погледна към полуотворената врата на стаята, дето лежаха цветята и другите й играчки. Тя започна да се вслушва и тогава й се стори, че в отвъдната стая някой свири на пианото, но тихо, толкова тихо и тъй хубаво, както никой досега не бе свирил.
„Сега там танцуват сигурно всички цветя! — помисли си тя. — Ах, как ми се иска да ги видя!“ Но тя не посмя да стане, за да не събуди баща си и майка си.
„Да можеха само да дойдат тук!“ — мислеше Ида.
Но цветята не идваха, а музиката продължаваше да свири. Най-сетне тя не можа да се сдържи: отвъд беше тъй весело! Тя се смъкна тихо от креватчето, приближи се на пръсти до вратата и надникна в стаята. Господи, какви чудеса видя там Ида!
В отвъдната стая не гореше нощна лампа, а пък беше съвсем светло. Месецът блестеше през прозореца точно в средата на пода и в стаята беше светло като ден. Всички зюмбюли и лалета стояха на пода в две дълги редици, по прозорците не бе останало нито едно цвете, там се виждаха само празни саксии. Цветята танцуваха чудно хубаво по земята и се държаха едно друго за дългите си зелени стъбла. На пианото седеше един голям жълт нарцис, който Ида беше видяла през лятото. Тя помнеше и досега още как студентът каза тогава: „Ах, колко много прилича на госпожица Лина!“. Тогава всички му се смяха, но сега и на самата Ида се стори, че дългото жълто цвете прилича наистина на госпожицата. Нарцисът правеше същите движения при свиренето: ту навеждаше усмихнатото си жълто лице на една страна, ту на друга и при това поклащаше главата си в такта на чудната музика. Никой не забелязваше малката Ида.
По-късно тя видя как един голям син минзухар скочи от масата, дето стояха играчките, приближи се до креватчето на куклата и разгърна завеските: там лежаха болните цветя, но те се вдигнаха веднага и кимнаха на другите в знак, че са съгласни да танцуват с тях. Старият господин върху пепелницата със счупената долна устна стана и започна да се кланя на хубавите цветя. Те вече не изглеждаха никак болни. Те скачаха и се веселяха не по-лошо от другите. В тоя миг нещо падна от масата и Ида погледна нататък: върбовото клонче беше скочило на земята. Изглежда, че и то се бе помислило за цвете. Всъщност то беше много мило и на върха му бе седнала една мъничка восъчна кукла, която имаше на главата си също такава широка шапка, както и съветникът. Клончето подскачаше сред цветята и тропаше силно с дървените си крачета. То танцуваше мазурка, но другите цветя не вземаха участие в тоя танц, защото бяха твърде леки и не можеха да тропат тъй силно.
Но ето, восъчната кукличка на върха на върбовото клонче се изпъна изведнъж, стана голяма, завъртя се и извика силно:
— Как могат да се приказват такива неща на едно дете! Всичко туй е само глупава измислица!
В тоя миг куклата приличаше досущ на съветника с черната широкопола шапка. Тя беше също тъй жълта и сърдита като него. Но цветята я удариха по тънките крачета и тя се сви отново и стана предишната мъничка восъчна кукла. Това беше тъй забавно, че малката Ида не можа да сдържи смеха си. Върбовото клонче продължаваше да скача и съветникът трябваше да скача по неволя с него — все едно дали той се протягаше в целия си ръст, или си оставаше мъничка восъчна кукла с черна широкопола шапка. Най-сетне цветята, особено ония, които лежаха в креватчето на куклата, започнаха да се молят за него и върбовото клонче го остави на мира. В същата минута нещо почука силно в чекмеджето, дето лежеше Идината кукла Софи заедно с другите играчки. Човечето от пепелницата изтича на самия край на масата, легна по корем и издърпа чекмеджето. Софи се изправи и се огледа учудено наоколо.
— Тук има бал — каза тя. — Защо не ми обадихте това по-рано?
— Искаш ли да танцуваш с мен? — попита човечето от пепелницата.
— Хубав кавалер! — извика Софи и му обърна гръб. Сетне тя седна на чекмеджето и почна да чака — дано някое от цветята я покани. Но никой не идваше. Тя се изкашля, но пак никой не дойде при нея. Човечето от пепелницата танцуваше само̀, и то съвсем не лошо.
Като видя, че цветята не я забелязват, Софи скочи на земята и дигна такъв шум, че всички се спуснаха към нея и почнаха да я разпитват дали не се е наранила. Всички бяха много любезни с нея, особено цветята, които бяха лежали в нейното креватче. Софи каза, че не се е ударила, и Идините цветя й поблагодариха за хубавото легло, а сетне я заведоха в средата на стаята, където светеше месецът, и започнаха да танцуват с нея. Сега Софи беше много доволна. Тя каза на цветята, че им отстъпва с радост креватчето си, защото се чувствувала добре и в чекмеджето.
Но цветята рекоха:
— Благодарим! Ние не ще живеем тъй дълго. Утре ще бъдем мъртви. Кажи само на малката Ида да ни погребе в градината — там, дето е заровено канарчето. През лятото ние ще израстем отново и ще бъдем още по-хубави.
— Не, вие не трябва да умирате! — извика Софи и започна да целува цветята.
В тоя миг вратата се отвори и в стаята нахлу цял рояк цветя. Ида никак не можа да разбере откъде дойдоха — може би от кралския палат? Начело вървяха две прекрасни рози, зад тях пристъпяха, като се кланяха на всички страни, чудно хубави шибои и карамфили, а най-отзад крачеха музикантите: големи макове и божури надуваха грахови шушулки и лицата им бяха почервенели от усилие, а мъничките сини звънчета и бели кокичета, които вървяха след тях, звъняха весело и игриво. Каква чудна музика! Зад музикантите пък се виждаха много други цветя и те всички започнаха да танцуват: и сините теменужки, и жълтите невенчета, и маргаритките, и момините сълзи. Цветята танцуваха и се целуваха тъй мило, че драго беше на човек да ги гледа!
Най-сетне те си казаха лека нощ и тогава малката Ида си легна тихичко в креватчето. През цялата нощ тя сънува цветята и всичко онова, що бе видяла.
На сутринта Ида стана и изтича при масичката си, за да види там ли са цветята й.
Тя дръпна завеските — да, те лежаха в креватчето, но бяха съвсем, съвсем увехнали. Софи също лежеше в чекмеджето, където бе оставена, и изглеждаше твърде сънлива.
— Помниш ли какво трябваше да ми кажеш? — попита я Ида.
Но Софи я погледна глупаво и не каза нито думица.
— Колко си лоша! — рече Ида. — А те танцуваха с теб!
Сетне тя взе една книжна кутийка с хубаво нарисувана птичка на капака, отвори я и сложи там умрелите цветя.
— Ето вашия ковчег! — каза тя. — По-късно, когато дойдат моите братовчеди от Норвегия, ние ще ви погребем в градината, за да израстете пак през лятото още по-хубави!
Братовчедите от Норвегия бяха двама пъргави малчугани. Те се казваха Йонас и Адолф и техният баща им беше подарил два нови лъка, които те донесоха със себе си, за да ги покажат на малката Ида. Тя пък им разказа за бедните мъртви цветя и им позволи да присъствуват на погребението. Момчетата вървяха напред с лъковете през рамо, зад тях вървеше малката Ида с мъртвите цветя в кутията. Изкопаха в градината малко гробче. Ида целуна цветята и спусна кутията в земята, а Йонас и Адолф опънаха лъковете си и пуснаха по една стрела над гроба, защото нямаха никакво друго оръжие — нито топ, нито пушка.“
